I just wanted to let you know that the Recycling Authority continues to be impressed with the outstanding performance of Environmental Recycling Group . The teams assembled by Environmental Recycling Group for our HHW events display a level of professionalism, expertise, attention-to-detail, and friendliness that I’ve not seen matched in the thirteen years that I’ve been involved with such collections.

Last Saturday was another spectacular day for hosting a household hazardous waste collection. Overall, 1371 participants attended the collection event. The turnout was the highest in the last three years. Despite the high turnout, the event went very smoothly, with the average time on site for participants well under four minutes. Many were on the grounds of the collection site for less than two minutes and nobody was timed on site for more than 7.5 minutes.

The Toledo Zoo Earth Day celebration was a great success this year and we would like to thank you for your contribution. Your participation helped us educate the public on important environmental issues. Here at the Zoo, it is importation for us that we collaborate with businesses and organizations in the community to fully promote this day.

This year we reached a record attendance for Earth day, with over 8,100 people at the Zoo. The high attendance was due in part to wonderful weather, but also from all the outside organizations that promote this event and donated their time.
